Log to Lumber

Class Description

Have you ever wondered how they make lumber from logs? In this course, we will go over the different ways logs have been processed into lumber over the years. We will also have a hands-on portion where we take a small log and make boards from it. Logs will be provided, but feel free to bring your own from home just make sure they are not too wet or dirty.

Ages 13+

Class cost: $20

Class length: 2 hours, 6:00-8:00pm

There is a $5 non-refundable registration fee, the remainder of the class price is collected the day of the class.

Instructor Bio

Danny Lang (he/him) is the Founder and Executive Director of Reclaimed! He is also a talented woodworker and an all around skilled Maker. 

He moved around from Florida to Georgia, back to Florida then to the Catskills of New York State, where his family hails from. From there, Danny ended up at Green Mountain College in Poultney, Vermont. He earned a degree in Renewable Energy and Ecological Design with a concentration in Art and Business. After the closing of Green Mountain College, Danny saw the importance of continuing the mission of the GMC REED program, and so “REclaimED” was born. 

Danny now lives in the historic area of East Poultney and teaches people how to make their ideas become reality in a variety of different materials and processes at Reclaimed.
