Blacksmithing - Creating a Hook

Class Description

In this course we will be making a simple hook in the propane forge. We will go over some basic blacksmithing principles as well as techniques such as scrolling, cutting, twisting, and bending. Hook making is a good intro to blacksmithing.

Ages 13+

Class cost: $50

Class length: 2 hours, 6:00-8:00pm

There is a $5 non-refundable registration fee, the remainder of the class price is collected the day of the class.

Instructor Bio

Danny Lang (he/him) is the Founder and Executive Director of Reclaimed! He is also a talented woodworker and an all around skilled Maker. 

He moved around from Florida to Georgia, back to Florida then to the Catskills of New York State, where his family hails from. From there, Danny ended up at Green Mountain College in Poultney, Vermont. He earned a degree in Renewable Energy and Ecological Design with a concentration in Art and Business. After the closing of Green Mountain College, Danny saw the importance of continuing the mission of the GMC REED program, and so “REclaimED” was born. 

Danny now lives in the historic area of East Poultney and teaches people how to make their ideas become reality in a variety of different materials and processes at Reclaimed.
